Ringwood, New Jersey


About 40 miles northwest of New York City, nestled in the Ramapo Mountains sits Ringwood a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey. Home to the State Botanical Garden, the Shepherd Lake Recreation Area, and the Skylands and Ringwood Manors, Ringwood offers a plethora of magnificent and breathtaking scenery.

Skylands Manor is a magnificent part of Ringwood Park; called The Castle many special occasions including numerous weddings are help here. The scenery and manor are remarkably conserved and seems as if it were straight out of a fairytale. The Garden State Parkway, George Washington Bridge, Route 208, and Interstate 287 are just a few links between and outside world and this fantasy

Ringwood Public School District serves about 1,400 students from grades K-8. There are two K-3 schools, Peter Cooper and Robert Erskine, and one school for grades 4-5 and one grades 6-8; E.G. Hewitt and M.J. Ryerson respectively. Students in grades 9-12 attend Lakeland Regional High School in Wanaque. There are also 2 private schools in Ringwood. Ringwood Christian School educates students K-8 and also offers part-time sessions for pre-K. St. Catherine of Bologna School is a Roman Catholic part-time pre-K and part-time kindergarten.

The major vein in and out of Ringwood is Skyline Drive. It’s a long stretch of road through Ringwood Park and the view is spectacular. Just a glimpse at the Manhattan skyline eases stress after a long day. New Jersey Transit buses ride in and out of Ringwood offering service to Port Authority Bus Terminal and the Willowbrook Mall; both destinations are major hubs for further transportation.
